As a busy person, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and exhausted. I know I’ve been there. But with the right tips and daily routines in your life, it doesn’t have to be that way!
As an entrepreneur and mom to a busy toddler, it’s important that I’m intentional with my time for not only the sake of my productivity, but for my sanity as well. So…Here are five tips that have made all the difference in my life, and here’s to hoping they can help you too!
Set an alarm for earlier than usual so that you can start each day feeling energized and motivated. The earlier you wake up, the more time you will have to get things done before your day starts filling up with tasks.
Not only that, but you’ll have a bit of that much quiet time to yourself…to spend however you choose. If you’re looking to incorporate new routines into your life (think reading, meditation, movement etc.) this one of the best ways to make sure you succeed because everyday life won’t have a chance get in the way.
Make sure you know what needs to get done on any given day by planning ahead. Take some time at the beginning of each week to write down all of your appointments, tasks and goals for the upcoming days and be diligent about staying on top of them. Each evening, reflect on the day you had so that you can start the next day with a clear, concise direction.
If you’re looking to up-level how you plan ahead, incorporate weekly meal planning and preparing so you can cut the ‘what’s for dinner?’ guessing game out of your daily routine. Not only will this help you save money, but you’ll be surprised at the amount of time you’ll save every single day by simply having meals ready to go.
Stay on top of things by organizing your space and keeping everything where it belongs. This will help you stay focused without being easily distracted by clutter. If you’re struggling with this, give yourself grace and know that it’s easier to get started than you think.
-Always put things back where they belong
-Tidy-up areas as you go
-Organize one small area (like a drawer) every day and one larger area (like a closet or room) every week
-Declutter whenever possible.
Don’t forget to take breaks throughout the day! I’m really bad for not doing this and know it’s something I have to get better at. Use your break time to relax your mind and body so that you can be more productive when it comes time to jumping back in.
Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the journey. Make sure to take some time each day just for yourself in order to enjoy life a bit more, no matter how busy you are. It’s easy to get caught up in the overwhelm of all of the things we ‘have’ to do, so instead try reframing your mindset to think about all the things you ‘get’ to do in a day. Easier said than done, but with intention, this tip will be the most valuable of them all.
By incorporating these five strategies into your daily routine, you will be able to make life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable! Let me know what you think, if this was helpful, and if you have other tips I should add to the list!
